The fifth-annual Flavor Palm Beach kicks off next week so it won’t be long before we’ll be privy to a month of dining deals at 40-plus area restaurants, including a strong contingent of eateries in Palm Beach.

Flavor is a September-long promo, with participating restaurants cashing in on the power of collective marketing and the potential to fill seats during a slower-paced time of year.

The rest of us have the opportunity to try some of them—or frequent long-time favorites—at bargain prices relative to high season; in this case, three-course lunches for $20 and three-course dinners for $30 or $35.

New this year is a series of “kickoff” events benefiting Share Our Strength—a national nonprofit whose efforts stem childhood hunger in America—and beginning on Aug. 29 at downtown West Palm Beach’s penthouse-perched Top of the Point restaurant (6-8 p.m.; $15 in advance and $20 at the door; event includes cocktails, wine, appetizers and music).

Sept. 1-30, Flavor’s three-course lunch and dinner deals will be in play, with participating Palm Beach restaurants, among other Flavor eateries throughout the county from Jupiter to Boca, serving up one or both offers.

Participating island eateries include Café Boulud, Charley’s Crab, The Leopard Lounge/Restaurant at The Chesterfield, PB Catch, Renato’s, Temple Orange at The Ritz-Carlton, Testa’s, The Restaurant at The Four Seasons, and The Breakers’ Flagler Steakhouse and Italian Restaurant.

Elsewhere? Participating restaurants in downtown West Palm Beach, for instance, include City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill, Morton’s The Steakhouse, Pistache, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Top of the Point.

All Flavor restaurants and the menus they’re offering for the promo are posted on Flavor’s website (www.flavorpb.com), where you’ll also get a taste of Flavor’s new ad campaign picturing locals—particularly those connected to the restaurant scene—with a quote about what they like about the month-long dining opportunity.
